Reacting to NSW’s new $25 million Aboriginal flag on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Victorian government has announced it will not be out-woked by constructing an enormous $25 billion rainbow flag that will cover most of Melbourne.
“Cop that, Sydney,” said Victoria’s Minister of Flagpoles. “This $25 billion flag will prove that Melbourne is a much better person than Sydney.”
Some have questioned the move of both states.
“Perhaps spending the money on things that would help Aboriginal and LGBTIQA+ people rather than simply make inner-city elites feel better about themselves would have been a better use of the money.”
Embarrassed by Melbourne’s retaliation, Sydney is set to permanently turn off all the lights in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel to help “lower climate change or something”.
